Course outline

The Public Procurement Act brings about significant changes in the procurement landscape in South Africa. Public procurement accounts for a significant portion of government expenditure. The government spends almost one trillion Rand or twelve % of the gross domestic product annually. This presents the government with an opportunity to address socio-economic challenges by incentivising the private sector to engage in behaviour that will contribute to addressing these challenges.

This session explores some of the changes introduced by the Public Procurement Act and how it will impact public and private organisations.
